The Biscuit Brothers participated in Austin’s First Night New Years celebration this year…the last of our whirlwind Holiday tour we did this season (12 shows in all every weekend during the month of December). At First Night we shared and made music with kids during the day, got to be the grand marshals in the parade and ride in the gigantic HEB shopping cart and THEN perform a live show as the finale for the family portion of the first night activities. It was a ton of fun and Jerry and Judy brought Sullivan down so he could enjoy the festivities as well and of course continue his studies as a rode in training. he is off to a good start with those studies with lots of behind the scenes Biscuit stage time.

Sullivan and I went to see the Biscuit Brothers Count Down to New Years show. Yes you heard me right, I WENT to see it. Got to sit in the audience with my boy and WATCH a Biscuit show. I had a blast and so did Sullivan. Now of course we got to enjoy some special perks knowing the performers and all and hung out on stage and backstage before the show which I always think is the highlight for Sullivan. He also got to take home a Biscuit blow up Banjo (banjun as he pronounces, an improvement from he previous badin pronunciation)

Sullivan found this hat at his grandparents and for some reason he called it his Christmas hat and wore it all through the Holiday season. He of course liked to put it over his cowboy hat and would tip both and say Merry Christmas.

Then Damon made Sullivan’s annual Christmas ornament to hang on the tree Christmas Day night to commemorate the holiday for years to come.

We had a full day festival of gifts and fun at our house this year. Sullivan was a bit more aware of the present scenario but instead of opening the gifts in 30 minutes he took his time and opened them over a 5 and half hour period. I mean come on…it just doesn’t make sense to open up a fun gift and not pay with it right then and there now does it? So as you will see in subsequent posts each hour of our morning leading up to his nap. I think Sullivan pace of enjoying Christmas morning is the way to go for sure. He he is opening up his stocking and playing with all it’s contents.

HOUR TWO – Otherwise known as The Woody Hour
Well the morning took a big shift once Sullivan opened his gift from Uncle Jim and Aunt Lynn. It was a Woody costume and hat and once he opened that everything stopped for a good hour. He had to put that costume on right over his pajamas and then wanted to watch the movie which we did, the whole thing….then he had to go outside and play on his horse. It was a grand hour indeed and he wore the costume the rest of the morning as you will see in the next pictures.
